Biography

Susan R. Fox enjoys working for the best interests of a wide variety of businesses, developers and individuals, seeking to complete their transactions quickly and efficiently.  Her practice areas concentrate on commercial real estate transactions, including acquisition and sale, development, commercial leasing on behalf of both landlords and tenants, and advising on land use issues. She represents and counsels real estate brokers on their legal and ethical obligations, and represents buyers and sellers of residential real estate, as well as consulting and serving as an expert witness in real estate and real estate brokerage litigation.

Sue received her B.A. degree from Southern Methodist University in 1968, and then served in the United States Peace Corps in Liberia, West Africa 1968 - 1970.  After working for several business and nonprofit entities, she enrolled in the University of Denver College of Law, graduating in December, 1976.  Following graduation, she clerked in both the Denver District Court and United States District Court for the Honorable Zita Weinshienk, and was an associate and partner in several law firms, concentrating on commercial and real estate–related litigation.  In 1986 she became Regional Counsel for CB Commercial (now known as CBRE).  Returning to private practice in1991, she transitioned from litigation to concentrate solely on transactional real estate, but her litigation background has helped her know how to keep her clients out of court!

Sue has served the real estate industry as a whole as an active member of the Colorado Real Estate Commission's Standing Committee on Forms, as chair or a participant in numerous Colorado Real Estate Commission task forces, and as a member of the Denver Metropolitan Commercial Association of Realtors' Education Committee.  Sue is also a frequent speaker before various real estate broker audiences, and has published a number of articles of interest to the industry.

Her service to the legal profession has included serving on the Board of Governors of the Colorado Bar Association, Section Council of its Real Estate Law Section, Chair of the Interprofessional Committee of Lawyers and Realtors, member of the Colorado Supreme Court's Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee and the D.U. Law School Mentor Program, Partners at Law.

Sue holds Martindale-Hubbell's highest possible peer review rating in legal ability and ethical standards, "AV® Preeminent™".

As an active member of Rotary International, Sue has continued her interest in serving the needs of international community, being involved in many of its World Community Service projects.  A past president of the 100-plus year old Rotary Club of Denver, she currently serves as founder and chair of Rotary District 5450's Rotary-Peace Corps Alliance Committee.  Other community involvement includes or has included legal work for Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver and the New Cole Economic Development Corp, Women's Bean Project and the Associates of the Denver Botanic Gardens.
