Biography

Ms. Belak has over 18 years of experience in business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate and business law, intellectual property and commercial litigation. Ms. Belak represents clients in many aspects of their businesses, including forming businesses; purchasing and selling businesses; negotiating and drafting contracts of all types (including trademark and copyright license agreements, software license agreements, buy-sell agreements, non-competition agreements, confidentiality agreements, distributorship agreements, employment agreements, service agreements, purchase and sale agreements and invoice terms and conditions); registering and renewing trademarks and copyrights (U.S. and international); finance transactions; secured transactions; foreclosing secured assets; securities (including private placement debt and equity offerings), real estate transactions and service-disabled veteran owned business concern (SDVOSB) compliance. Ms. Belak also counsels clients regarding corporate governance and risk management issues, as well as conflict avoidance and resolution. She has litigated commercial matters in a wide range of areas, including antitrust, intellectual property, environmental, unfair competition, breach of contract, shareholder disputes and business torts.

She is licensed to practice law in all Colorado state courts as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

Ms. Belak is involved in numerous legal and community organizations, including the American and Colorado Bar Associations and their Business Law and Intellectual Property subsections, Arapahoe County Bar Association, Colorado Association of Corporate Counsel, Colorado Women's Bar Association and the Law Club. She is also a member of the Denver Advisory Board and Executive Women's Golf Association. Ms. Belak has served on the boards of directors of numerous non-profit organizations (including several that assist at-risk youth) and has served on the Denver/Boulder Better Business Bureau Advertising Ethics Council.
