Biography
Ms. Ellis is an associate at Burns, Figa & Will, P.C. Her practice is focused in the area of land use, real estate and litigation.
After receiving her undergraduate degree in International Studies from the University of Vermont, Ms. Ellis moved to Colorado in 1998. She worked with the commercial real estate industry for several years and was active in the green building community in Denver. She served on the board of Developing Young Leaders of NAIOP and as the membership chair for the Denver branch of the Colorado chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council.
Ms. Ellis received her J.D. from the University of Denver in 2012. While in law school, Ms. Ellis completed a judicial externship with the Honorable Judge John L. Wheeler in the 18th Judicial District, as well as a commercial externship with a land use consulting firm and an internship with Colorado Attorney General's Office in the Department of Natural Resources and Environment. During her time at Sturm College of Law, Ms. Ellis received a scholastic award for excellence for her work with a high school mock trial team in the Trial Mentors Practicum. Ms. Ellis also coached and participated in several mock trial and moot court competitions, and won the University of Denver Moot Court Client Counseling Competition in 2012.
Ms. Ellis is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and the Denver Association Real Estate and Natural Resources & Environmental sections. She is also an active member of the Minoru Yasui Inn of Court.
Outside of the office, Ms. Ellis enjoys running, triathlons, skiing, surfing and adventure travel.
